Rivers United head coach, Finidi George is anticipating a difficult match against his former club, Enyimba FC, this weekend.
Finidi returns to his former club, Enyimba, for the first since departing the club to take on a role with the Super Eagles.
A fan favourite at Enyimba, the Coach led them to a record-breaking 8th league title during his second season in charge.
Now at the helm of Rivers United, he admitted that facing his former employers will be no easy task.
“We are playing against Enyimba; it’s going to be a difficult game, but I’ve always said we will take our game one at a time,” Finidi stated in a pre-match interview.
Rivers United enter the match in strong form, having won two and drawn one of their first three games of the season.
Enyimba, under the leadership of Yemi Olanrewaju, have played two matches so far, securing a game in hand.
Olanrewaju, who previously served as Finidi’s assistant at Enyimba, recently guided the team to the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The match promises to be a significant test for both sides, with added personal stakes for the coaches involved.
