Former NFF assistant technical director, Paul Aigbogun has expressed his optimism regarding the future of the Super Eagles under the new head coach, Finidi George.

Aigbogun acknowledged the significant responsibility placed on Finidi, especially given the current position of the team in the World Cup qualifiers.

However, the former NFF director remains hopeful that the team will grow and earn the adulation of fans.

“It should be an exciting time; it’s a fresh outlook,” Aigbogun told Brila.net.

“The country has been calling for a local coach, and now they have one. A lot is on his shoulders, but I think it’s exciting.

“The team is not in a comfortable position with the points, but what is key is if he starts well, then everyone’s support will be behind him. So, I think that’s very key for him to start well.”
