Super Eagles head coach Finidi George has expressed strong optimism about his team’s chances of rebounding in their upcoming match against Benin Republic after a disappointing result against South Africa.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Finidi emphasized the unity and determination within the squad to secure a victory and reignite their World Cup qualifying campaign.
“I think they [Benin Republic] just won their last match, so their morale is going to be very high,” Finidi noted.
“There is no other day for us to travel. We have to travel, we have to be in action so we can do our training. But I think they won their last match, and the spirit is high there. We’ve been working together, and they want to win.
“This is not only about the coach of Nigeria; the players have my back. So, I’m not worried about it. They know what is at stake, and they’ll do the job.”
