Super Eagles interim coach, Finidi George has shed light on the significance of the friendlies against Ghana and Mali for the Super Eagles.

With an eye on enhancing the team’s performance for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, Finidi said he’s keen on utilizing these matches to bolster their readiness.

Despite reaching the final at the last African Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, Nigeria trail Rwanda and South Africa in their group.

“We finished in second place at the Africa Cup of Nations and everyone expects us to maintain that high rating and be even better in a short while,” Finidi told the Team’s Media Channel.

“Our objective is to get good results in these two matches and stay positive ahead of the World Cup qualifiers.”
