Nigeria U20 MNT, the Flying Eagles, was off to a winning star at the FIFA U17 World Cup in Argentina.
The Flying Eagles secured a 2-1 comeback win over debutants Dominican Republic at the Estadio Malvinas Argetinas, on Sunday.
It was a convincing performance from Nigeria as they dug deep to secure maximum points following a Guillermo De Pena own-goal and Lawal Samson’s second half strike.
The seven-time African Champions fell behind early in the first half from Edison Azcona penalty.
But the Nigerian team fought back forcing a De Pena own goal few minutes later. Lawal sealed the win with nineteen minutes left on the clock.
The Flying Eagles will face Italy in their next group D game.
