Falconets head coach, Christopher Danjuma, has affirmed that his team is in top shape as they gear up for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.
Danjuma shared that the squad’s preparations are progressing smoothly, with a strong emphasis on international experience.
“We’re doing excellently well in our preparation,” Danjuma stated. “For many of the girls, this World Cup will be a significant experience, with 60% of the squad having graduated from the U-17 World Cup in India, and others having recently competed in the All African Games in Ghana. These players know the importance of the tournament and what it means to Nigerians.”
The Falconets are set to leave for Colombia between August 17th and 18th.
Ahead of the tournament, they will play friendly matches against Mexico, Australia, and a local team to fine-tune their strategy.
The Nigerian team will kick off their World Cup campaign on August 31st against the Republic of Korea.
