Nigeria’s U17 WNT, the Flamingoes, will now travel to Bamako to face Burkina Faso in a crucial 2024 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifying match.
Originally scheduled to take place in Ouagadougou, the fixture has been relocated to Bamako, due to concerns over the pitch’s standard in the Burkinabe capital.
The decision to move the match to Bamako ensures a higher-quality playing surface for the upcoming encounter, fostering fair competition between the two sides.
The match is set to kick off on Saturday, 11th May, at 4 pm Mali time.
Following the fixture in Bamako, the Flamingoes will host Burkina Faso in the return leg at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
This second leg is scheduled for Saturday, 18th May, with the match commencing at 4:30 pm Nigeria time.
In preparation for their journey to Bamako, the Flamingoes’ delegation will depart from Abuja on Wednesday, 8th May.
