Former match Referee, who is currently a Fifa and Caf Referee instructor in Nigeria, Calistus Chukwujekwu has revealed that Nigeria Referees failed their pre-match physical and match analysis test that should have enlisted them for this year’s tournaments.
Speaking to Sports247, Chukwujeku stated reasons why Nigeria Referees were not listed for the just concluded U17 championship in Tanzania and the forthcoming Afcon competition in Egypt, saying it’s not politics as widely believe entirely but Nigeria Referees failed the physical and pre-match test analysis.
“Before the competition of the U17 finals in Morocco, Referees were invited for a pre-match seminal in Morocco, a referee from Nigeria was invited for that seminar.
However, I got that the only referee picked from Nigeria failed the tests.
The test is not just some physical test, as they must be a balance between your physical test, your intellectual ability, and your technical knowledge.
