Leicester City’s striker Ademola Lookman has been cleared by FIFA to represent Nigeria.
The World’s Football Governing Body finally approved his request for a change of nationality on Thursday and he’s now eligible to represent Nigeria.
The young striker was born in England and he played for the Junior Three Lions and won the U20 FIFA World Cup with them.
Lookman has been on the radar of Nigeria since 2017 and had a series of meeting with the Nigeria Football Federation chief in the past.
Lookman who has eight goals in 22 appearances for Leicester City becomes the latest player to dump England for Nigeria, after Alex Iwobi, Victor Moses, Shola Ameobi, and Ola Aina.
He could be available for the FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff against the Black Stars of Ghana next month.
