Enugu Rangers’ head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu says Remo Stars remain the strongest team in the Nigeria Premier Football League this season.
Remo Stars, who finished second last season behind Rangers, have started the new campaign in impressive form, securing three wins from three matches.
The Daniel Ogunmodede-led side has beaten Abia Warriors and Kano Pillars in their two away fixtures, further solidifying their early dominance.
Speaking to the media in Lagos, Ilechukwu praised Remo Stars’ current form.
“I think the team at the top of the NPFL summit [Remo Stars] are the strongest this season,” .
Rangers are set to face Remo Stars in a highly anticipated Super Sunday clash in Ikenne, but Ilechukwu acknowledged that his team may not be among the title favorites.
“As for Rangers, we will definitely sit on the fence and wait, because Remo Stars, Kano Pillars, Enyimba, and Shooting Stars are all ahead of us, especially after our continental ouster,” he admitted.
Despite Rangers’ slow start to the season, they recorded their first win of the campaign on Monday with a victory over Ikorodu City.
Ogunmodede’s side currently lead the NPFL standings with nine points.
