FIBA World Cup: Ugboaja talks up Nigeria’s Chances

Former D’Tigers star Ejike Ugboaja said Nigeria qualifying for the 2019 FIBA World Cup was a great statement, but the team must show bigger ambitions and compete in China to excel.

Ugboaja who represented Nigeria at five major international competitions including the Afro Basket, Commonwealth, and Olympic Games insists, the team needs to approach the World Cup differently and prepare well, in order to stand a chance of doing well.
‘ This is a fresh tournament, so they’ve got to come out with that mentality. They’re in the tournament now, they’ve got to earn anything else from here on,’ Ugboaja told brila.net.
‘ So, play good tune-up games, go in fresh and I believe we will do better this time around.’
