Nigeria’s Basketball U18 MNT has claimed another group-stage victory in the FIBA U18 Afrobasket, defeating Uganda 72-61, to finish top of their group, advancing to the quarter-finals.
The J’Tigers dominated the game, securing wins in three of the four quarters.
They took the first quarter 21-15, followed by a 19-11 win in the second, and extended their lead in the third quarter, 17-15.
Although Uganda managed to take the final quarter 20-15, Nigeria’s early dominance ensured a comfortable overall victory.
Nigeria’s campaign began with a 70-57 loss to Egypt in their opening Group B game on September 4.
However, the team bounced back with a hard-fought 70-65 win against Angola on Saturday, putting themselves back in contention.
With this win, Nigeria has qualified for the knockout stages and now await their next opponents.
