The 26-year-old’s current contract is set to expire in June 2025, but Fenerbahçe is taking proactive measures to extend it, aiming to prevent him from leaving for free.

“I think everyone knows that my ambition is to play English football, to play in the [English] Premier League,” he was quoted by Soccernet.

“No disrespect to Fenerbahçe; they have done so much for me here [in Turkey]. But my ambition is to play in the Premier League. So when I feel that the time is right, I will take it,”
