Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce have opened talks with Nigerian defender Bright Osayi-Samuel over a new contract.

The talks come as Osayi-Samuel’s has only 18 months remaining on his current deal with the club.

Osayi-Samuel, a pivotal figure in Fenerbahçe’s commendable second-place finish in the recently concluded season, has attracted attention from various European heavyweights, notably those in the English Premier League.

Fenerbahçe, keen on retaining the 26-year-old’s services amidst mounting interest, aim to secure a long-term commitment from the versatile defender.

The negotiations which commenced on Thursday, is expected to last for weeks and the club is confident the Nigerian international sign an extension.
