Barcelona have added another firepower to their attack with the acquisition of Franc International Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid for 120million.
The Catalan club triggered the Attacker’s release clause and tied him down to a 5-year deal and slapped a 800 million release clause on the player.
In a release on its website, Barcelona stated that:
“FC Barcelona has paid the 120 million euro buyout clause to release Antoine Griezmann from Atlético Madrid.
“The player will sign a contract with his new club for the next five seasons, through to 30 June 2024, with a buyout clause of 800 million euros.”
Griezmann, 28, recently signed a contract extension at Atletico Madrid, but a season later expressed his desire to leave, with his favored destination being Barcelona.
Meanwhile, with the deal announced on Friday, it is believed the club is still interested in bringing another marquee signing through before the transfer window shutdown.
