Super Falcons striker Desire Oparanozie has opined that Rivers Angels didn’t deserve to lose to Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Edwin Okon’s side lost 1-0 to South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns at El-Salam Stadium, Cairo, on Tuesday, after losing 3-0 to Morocco’s ASFAR last Saturday.
Zanele Nhlapo’s winner for Sundowns was contentious goal and Rivers Angels had two penalties appeal waved away by the officials.
Reacting to the match, Oparanozie, hinted that the match officials didn’t do their job properly.
“Rivers Angels didn’t deserve to lose. They came to the party; but hard luck, and officials irregularity worked against them. Sundowns goal wasn’t a goal, match officials need to do better.”Oparanozie posted on Twitter.
Rivers Angels will try to put the loss behind them when they take on Kenya’s Vihiga Queens on Saturday.
