Coach of Nigeria’s U20 women national team Christopher Danjuma has stated that his Falconet team is seriously under pressure but that they are taking it in a positive way rather than get worried about the weight of expectation of Nigerians on the team.
Danjuma speaking in a chat with www.brila.net admitted that they are fully aware of the fact that football would have been ticked by many as a sure medal prospect but that they are unfazed and would rather use the games to show what they can do in Africa and promise not to disappoint in this regard.
“With Nigeria’s placement in women football, I will say it’s positive pressure. Pressure could be positive and it could be negative but I think that it is a positive feeling in the sense that we are African champion in women football in the senior category and players have been going from this category to excel in the senior category.
We know what it takes or the expectation on this team and so we want to go out and do the best we can to make the country proud.”
