Nigeria midfielder, Mary Saiki has fired a warning to China ahead of the sides group game clash at the ongoing FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.
Saiki, 18, was an unused substitute in Nigeria’s 1-0 victory against a hard-fighting Haiti; a win that saw the Falconets pick their first points in the competition and set up a mouthwatering clash against the Asian side.
Although tied on on points, Christopher Danjuma’s team are in second place with a superior goal difference following China’s 2-0 defeat to group leaders, Germany.
Thus, the stakes are high for the August 13 game and Saiki understands only one team will be left standing.
In a chat with Brila.net Saiki said the team had put the win against Haiti behind them and are determined to “take China down”.
Nigeria is bidding to reach the final of the competition again, after previously finishing as runners up in 2010 and 2014.
