The draw for the Emirates FA Cup third round has thrown up some thrilling ties, with holders Manchester United set to face record 14-time winners Arsenal in a blockbuster encounter.
The third round will take place from January 9-13, 2024.
United, the 13-time FA Cup champions, will travel to the Emirates for an against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, who have lifted the trophy a record 14 times. The two sides will meet in the league just a month before their FA Cup clash.
Other Premier League teams have also been handed intriguing ties.
Last season’s finalists, Manchester City, will host fourth-tier Salford City in a clash at the Etihad. Liverpool, the Premier League leaders, face a home game against Accrington Stanley, while Chelsea will take on League Two’s Morecambe at Stamford Bridge.
Aston Villa, with seven FA Cup wins to their name, will play host to West Ham United in the only all-Premier League clash of the round.
Meanwhile, Spurs, who have lifted the FA Cup eight times, will travel to non-league Tamworth in what is expected to be a potential upset in the making.
Tamworth are one of only two non-league clubs still in the competition, alongside Dagenham & Redbridge, who will visit second-tier Millwall.
Other notable ties include Brighton & Hove Albion, currently in fourth place in the Premier League, making the trip to Championship side Norwich City.
Championship leaders Sheffield United will host Cardiff City in another intriguing tie.
