Heartland and Super Eagles goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa has apologized and allayed fears of decline after his error against FC Ifeanyi Ubah at the Dan Anyiam stadium cost his side the win in a game that ended in a 1-1 draw in the Owerri side’s penultimate fixture before last Sunday’s win against MFM FC in Lagos.
Ezenwa who was subsequently benched in the last league outing against MFM FC in Lagos told brila.net that the late goal conceded in the last home game played by the Owerri side due to an error of his was painful but very important to point out it was just a fortuitous mistake and he has since moved on looking forward to returning to the team and giving his best when called upon.
“I’ve moved on and I’ve put it behind me because that is one thing we goalkeepers face. As a goalkeeper you have to have that strong mentality when such things happen, you just have to put it behind you and move on with your career. The mistake I made against FC Ifeanyi Ubah was a painful one which after the game I apologized. And this is normal in the life of a goalkeeper.
