Ex Super Eagles striker denies calling for Frank Lampard sack

Former Everton and Nigerian striker Victor Anichebe has refuted claims that he wants manager Frank Lampard out of the Club.

The Toffees are in a deep relegation fight after suffering another defeat in the Premier against Burnley on Wednesday.

The defeat means, Frank Lampard has lost eight of his 12 games in charge of Everton, since he was appointed as a replacement for Rafael Benitez.

Reacting to the poor form, Anichebe wrote on social media, “Too late Should’ve brought him on 10 mins ago it was obvious. DCL (Dominic Calvert-Lewin) has been poor.

‘The players aren’t good enough but neither is Frank. As much as I love him as a player and he looks like a top guy.

“Everton will 100% go down if a change isn’t made.”

However, he has now clarified the statement, saying he wasn’t calling for the former Chelsea boss to be shown the exit door.

He said: “I wasn’t even gonna speak on this but I genuinely can’t stand some media. I didn’t call for Lampard to be sacked,” Anichebe wrote on his Instagram story.

“Also, let’s think about this for a moment…who the fu**k am I to call for anyone to get sacked? I have no influence nor does my opinion matter.
