Everton Boss Ancelotti won’t risk Iwobi against Newcastle United

Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that Super Eagles winger Alex Iwobi won’t be part of his squad for Tuesday’s Premier League clash against Newcastle United at Goodison Park.

 

Iwobi has not played a game since injuring his hamstring against Arsenal last December and has missed the last six league games in the process.

 

Iwobi however returned to training last week, but Ancelotti the game against the Magpies I coming too early and he’s not expected yo featured, in order not to aggravate the injury.

 

“Iwobi is doing well but won’t be risked,” Ancelotti told a news conference on Monday afternoon.

 

”We have had a lot of games, so the players are not recovering properly. We take more risks in this period. We are having a busy time and I think after this game, we have a period where we can train properly and have a good rest.”

 

Iwobi has made 16 league appearances for Everton this season and scored one goal since joining from Arsenal last summer for a fee of 35 million pounds.
