Europa league ticket is our target – Chukwueze

Samuel Chukwueze is delighted with Villarreal’s recent run of good form and he’s optimistic the team will get better in a couple of weeks.

Villarreal has won grind out two scrappy wins since the league returned, including their 1 – 0 success over Real Mallorca at the Estadio de la Ceramica on Tuesday.

After taking the lead in the lead in the 16th minutes, thanks to Samuel Chukwueze’s fourth assist of the season, Javier Calleja’s men were unable to add more goals before the final whistle.

Chukwueze admitted they are still far from their best, but he’s optimistic they will find their rhythm in the next couple of days.

“This is just the start of the league, three months without playing, from now, we are just recovering from the pandemic, I think we played well, maybe next game will be much better,” Chukwueze told La Liga TV.

Chukwueze was named the man of the match after helping the team to another successful outing on Tuesday, and the results moved Villarreal to seventh on 44 points from 29 games.

The 21-year-old Nigerian winger is happy with his contribution and hope the team can pick European ticket at the end of the season.

“I feel so happy, more will come. We need to look forward because we want to reach the Europa League.

“That is our dream and target, if we keep on playing like this we will reach the Europa.”

Chukwueze and Villarreal will next lock horns with Ramon Azeez’sGranada at the Nuevo Los Cármenes stadium on Friday.
