Equatorial Guinea Manager Juan Obiang assures that his team is well-prepared for the upcoming AFCON opener against Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
Despite Nigeria’s historical edge with three previous wins, Obiang is confident that his squad is poised to create a new chapter in their football history.
“We have an ambition in this tournament, we want to win the tournament. We are aware of what to do, we want to give our best.” He said at post match conference.
“We have a complicated game tomorrow (today), Nigeria is among the favourites and we have prepared ourselves to be at the highest level.
Nigeria is set to be without the services of four key players in the upcoming game, all sidelined due to injuries.
Wilfred Ndidi, Victor Boniface, and Sadiq Umar have been officially ruled out of the tournament, while concerns linger over the fitness of Kelechi Ihenacho, with the medical team closely monitoring his condition.
Despite the absence of these key players, Obiang feels Nigeria still has quality players available for the upcoming match.
“They have players missing and they have replacements,” Obiang added.
“We’re aware of Nigeria’s potential and we have our potential. We have prepared for the game,” He concluded.
