Enyimba’s Samson Obi joins Libyan side Alnser FC

Enyimba International of Aba forward Samson Obi has joined Alnser Club of Benghazi, Libya, the club confirmed.

Samson reportedly signed on a two-year contract with the Libyan side after a deal was reached with the two time CAF Champions League winners.

The 24-year-old who joined the People’s Elephant at the start of the season was a vital part of Fatai Osho’s squad that reached the quarter-final of this year’s CAF Confederation Cup.

He also scored the winner for the Fata Osho’s tutored side against Sunshine Stars in Akure earlier in the season.

“Samson Obi’s contribution to Enyimba was immense and we wish him very well in his new club. He is a talented player and his star will shine brighter from here on. We believe that he will become a good ambassador of Enyimba and we pray for the best for him.” Chairman of Enyimba, Felix Anyansi Agwu said after the deal was announced.

Samson Obi is the second player to move from the Nigeria professional football league to Libyan club in recent week, after Effiong Ndifreke who joined Al Ahli Benghazi.
