Enyimba Will Fight for CAF Competition Spot – Ovoke

Enyimba FC forward Bernard Ovoke has expressed the club’s determination to secure a place in the CAF competitions following their failure to retain the league title.

Rangers Int’l emerged as the new champions, ending Enyimba’s hopes of defending their crown.

The former Champions sit third in the table with 60 points, trailing Remo Stars by two points.

Remo Stars hold the second position, which is the final Champions League slot, with 63 points, and Shooting Stars are in fourth place with 59 points.

“We have one final game to play, just like every other team. The important thing is, until it is over, it is not over,” Ovoke stated.

The former Plateau United and Kwara United forward says the team has enough quality to secure a spot in the CAF competitions.

“We will go back home and pick our pieces and see what we can get from this final game of the season to consolidate our continental ticket for next season. Maybe we can bounce back, and that will be a good thing for us.”

This weekend, Enyimba FC will host Plateau United, who are also in the race for the last continental ticket, trailing by two points.
