Having secured a 2-0 win against Niger Tornadoes in a matchday 21 game of the NPFL, Enyimba International of Aba defender, Olayinka Onaolapo has stated that the target of the team is to play in the Super 6 and lay hands on the trophy.
Speaking with brila.net, Olayinka noted that every game of the NPFL has provided defining moments and they are simply concentrating on the achievements of the team.
“The defining moment has been in every game, every tournament, every cup, we want to be the best we can. Not just to participate but to get our hands on every trophy.
We are always out here to be the best we can be so we aren’t looking forward to whatever Lobi, Rangers or MFM are doing. We have just been concentrating on what matters to us and from there we see how things unfold.”
Enyimba International is on the verge of a Super six Play-Off spot but would need to win on the final match day to be sure of that feat irrespective of the result MFM FC gets.
Olayinka also spoke on his injury plight stating that he had a very strong resolve not to give up which eventually worked.
“I don’t know how to answer this question because if I start talking about it, I won’t stop. However, it’s never easy when you are injured in this part of the country.
“I actually thought it was a light one because I have never been that injured since I started playing but all glory is to God Almighty because when everything failed, the only thing that worked was turning back to God and then everything started to work out again.
“I decided not to throw in the towel, I decided never to give up, I tried harder even when it seemed like nothing was working, I just had to be strong and believed that things would eventually work out. Kudos to the Enyimba medical staff and thanks to God Almighty for his grace and mercy”, he wrapped.
