Former Enyimba FC Captain, Obinna Nwaneri in a chat with www.brila.net says the role of ex-players in a team cannot be underestimated, especially a team like Enyimba seeking continental glory.
Nwaneri described the task of winning the Champions league as “difficult”.
“Before winning the champions league you need to bring everything on board including experience, you need to blend the experience of the past with the experience of present players for everything to work” the Champions League winning captain said.
“Some people reach to the past to make your future, you learn from past experience.”
Nonetheless, the former midfielder, believes in the current team and backs them to shine in the 2019/2020 CAF champions league campaign.
“Enyimba is a big team that has proven to be a contender on the continent. I wish them well but my wish alone will not be enough.”
Enyimba were held to a goalless result in Aba, and will travel to Sudan for the 2nd-leg on 29th September, hoping to progress to the Champions League proper.
