Enyimba maintains unbeaten run over MFM

Chijioke Akuneto’s 56th-minute strike earned Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries FC a point against Enyimba International FC in one of Matchday 13 fixtures in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) played on Sunday at the Soccer Temple, Agege  Stadium.

The first 45 minutes of the most anticipated NPFL match of the week failed to live up to the expectations of the fans as both teams settled for a goalless draw.

 

On resumption of the second 45 minutes of the match, the visitors upped their game and scored the first goal of the exchange through Abdulrahman Bashir after four minutes of play in the second half.

 

Seven minutes after the opening goal, Akuneto put MFM back into the game with a lovely finish after receiving a sweet assist from Akanni Elijah. The game ended 1-1.

 

The Olukoya Boys maintain top spot in Group A of the NPFL standings with 23 points from 13 league games while Enyimba still occupies the second position with 20 points from 13 matches.
