Enyimba fined and docked Points for Matchday Violations

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has been issued fines and penalties against Enyimba following multiple breaches during their Match Day 35 fixture against Rangers at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, on June 9.

Enyimba faced several charges, including, failing to ensure proper conduct of players, officials, and supporters.

 

 

Disrupting the transmission of a live broadcast.

Throwing objects and encroaching onto the field of play.

The club was charged for refusing to continue the match in protest against a penalty awarded to their opponents, causing the disruption and discontinuation of the match.

 

 

As a result, the NPFL imposed the following sanctions on Enyimba:

 

A fine of 1 million naira for improper conduct.

A fine of 5 million naira for disrupting a live broadcast.

A fine of 1 million naira for throwing objects onto the field.

A fine of 1 million naira for field encroachment.

Forfeiture of 3 points and 3 goals in favor of Rangers International FC for disrupting the match.

A fine of 2 million naira for causing the disruption and discontinuation of the match.

An order to identify and produce for further investigation the players and officials involved in the disruptive conduct, including Eze Ekwutoziam, Chibuike Nwaiwu, and Akanni Elijah.

Enyimba has to either submit to the summary jurisdiction and accept the sanctions or elect to be dealt with by a disciplinary panel within 48 hours.

Fines must be paid within seven working days if the club submits to the summary jurisdiction.

Failure to appeal or comply with the disciplinary panel’s decision may result in additional sanctions.
