Rangers LB Calvin Bassey was voted the Club’s Young Player of the Season and has described the feeling as “amazing”.
Bassey, 22, has made a total of 44 appearances and scored five goals across all competitions for the Gers this season.
The defender burst onto the scene last season and has since been reliable in LB and an option as CB under new Manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
He has become first choice in the position over Borna Barisic and his impressive displays earned him full international honours with Nigeria.
Speaking at the award ceremony last night, the player expressed delight with the recognition.
“It’s amazing for me (to win the award), especially on the Club’s 150th anniversary. All the past work I have put in finally recognized. It’s amazing, thanks to the manager, the fans and teammates, they are pushing me.”
“This is the part of the season where we have to work harder, we are still in the league, still got Scottish Cup final and the Europa League semifinal. So there is a lot to play for, we are just taking it step by step,” He said.
