Former Super Eagles player, Emeka Ezeugu has applauded the Minister of youth and Sports development Hon. Sunday Dare over the MKO Abiola Stadium renovation project.
The Stadium was commissioned over the weekend on Democracy day by the sports minister Hon. Sunday Dare, who promised the restructuring of the stadium for its usage.
In a chat with brila.net, Ezeugo confirmed that the sports minister has been doing tremendously well since his inception in the office as a sports minister.
“He has done well so we would just keep our fingers cross and be watching him since he said he would work on the stadium,”
“I believe renaming the stadium MKO Abiola will make all eyes to set on the stadium for restructuring,
“Though it is not something that will take two-three months or year, we would see an improvement, it is a gradual process you know, football is a gradual process because when you check in Nigeria, Football is the well-known sports aside any other in the land, I’m optimistic the stadium will be revived, ” he concluded.
Ezeugo played for Nigeria at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, he obtained 11 caps for the national team between 1992 and 1994 and was a member of the team that competed at the 1994 FIFA World Cup in USA.
