Former African Footballer of the year, El-hadji Diouf has revealed that the bad publicity on top players in Africa will make in impossible for players like Sadio Mane win the Balon d’Or.
The Senegal legend had earlier picked his countryman as one of his three favourites to win the individual award and urged Mbappe to leave Ligue 1 back in 2019.
In a chat with brila.net, Diouf said the issue of non recognition is majorly about the bad PR the African press give the players.
“It is about our structure, It is about our journalists, they have to help the players because when you are playing in Africa bad publicity about you written, does not help matters at all,
“As we speak right now, Sadio Mane is better than Kylian Mbappe but Sadio Mane doesn’t have much publicity like Kylian Mbappe. And thats the difference.
