Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong was in action for Udinese in the 7-1 embarrassing defeat to Atalanta in Italian Calcio game on Sunday.
The visitors settled quickly into the game and led through Nigerian born Italian striker Stefano Okaka in the 11th minutes, but the lead only lasted for 10 minutes as Josip Ilicic’s equaliser.
Udinese fell apart after Ekong’s partner Nicholas Opoku was sent off for conceding a penalty which Muriel converted , before Ilicic made it 3-1.
Muriel added two more goals, with Mario Pasalic and Amad Traore also getting on the score sheet to complete the rout.
The last time Udinese conceded seven in a Serie A game was in 1959 – 7-0 to AC Milan.
While Stefano Chuckwuka Okaka was substituted before the second half, Ekong played the entire minutes of the game.
