Nigeria defender William Troost- Ekong featured for the entire minutes as Udinese produced their finest performance of the season against Juventus on Thursday.
Ekong and his teammates edged closer to securing their Seria A status for next season with a 2-1 home win against title-chasing Juventus at the Dacia Arena on Thursday.
Troost-Ekong produced a solid performance at the back and he successfully stopped Cristiano Ronaldo from getting his 31st league goal of the season in the highly-entertaining clash.
Juventus took the lead three minutes from half time, through Netherlands defender Matthis, but Udinese rallied back in the second half and got their reward in 52nd minutes when Ilija Nestorovski scored a bullet header.
Ekong and the rest of the team were solid at the back against Juventus who desperately searching for the winner, however, the Maurizio Sarri’s men were caught on the break as Seko Fofana scored the winner for Udinese deep into stoppage time.
The win postponed Juventus ninth straight title coronation as the Little Zebras moved to 15th position on the table with 39 points from 35 games and Ekong featured in 29 of the games for Udinese this season.
