Ekong, Nwagua Complete Moves to Saudi Arabia

Nigerian players William Troost-Ekong and Nyima Nwagua have both completed their transfers to Saudi Arabia.

Ekong, 30, joined the Premier League side Al Kholood from PAOK, while Nwagua left former NPFL Champions Rivers United for division team Al Sadd.

The pair were announced, Friday, by their respective clubs, with social media posts confirming the moves.

Ekong and Nwagua join the growing number of Nigerian players who have moved to the Middle East in recent years.

One of Nigeria’s biggest exploits to the Arabian Peninsula remains Odion Ighalo, who left Manchester United in 2021 to join Al Shabab.

Ighalo has since won the Saudi League, King Cup and was top scorer in his first season in the division.

The 35 year-old is currently with Al Wehda, whom he joined in 2023 as a Free Agent.
