Nigerian CB, William Troost-Ekong has now sparked reactions amidst fans and members of the PAOK board.
The Greek side are not happy with the Ekong’s injury, and is now set to miss the remainder of the season after his surgery.
Greek based journalist, Kostas Petrotos told BRL, that legal action could be taken against the Nigeria Football Federation.
Kostas said: ”The situation is really weird because he played very well in the national team, and they (PAOK) expected him a lot to come back and help the team fight for the title here in Greece and also the European games.
“They play next Thursday with Dinamo Zagreb in the phase of 16 of the Conference League. So he would be a very important player, Troost Ekong, but now he does not play.”
“And the question is if PAOK knew this situation and they tried to avoid that or Troost Ekong and the Nigerian Football Federation did not give them all the details about his situation, this is the question. From PAOK they say that maybe they will make some moves against the Federation, but we will see what will happen in the end.”
“Yes, and they allowed Troost Ekong to still keep playing with all this big problem because it’s a third degree contusion. It’s a big problem. So PAOK is planning maybe they are planning to to take action against the NFF.”
