Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong, has expressed his pride in the team following their impressive start to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Nigeria kicked off their campaign with a commanding 3-0 victory over Benin Republic on Saturday, followed by a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Rwanda in Kigali on Tuesday.
These results mark a positive turnaround for the Super Eagles, who had faced a series of frustrating performances since their run to the final of the 2023 AFCON.
Reacting to the team’s showing, Troost-Ekong took to social media.
He posted: “NAIJA THANK YOU. PROUD OF THIS TEAM.”
With four points from a possible six, the Super Eagles are now comfortably positioned at the top of Group D, setting the stage for a promising AFCON qualification run.
