Ahead of U20 African Cup of Nations, Egypt’s head coach Mahmoud Gaber, says he’s wary of the Nigerian team.
Egypt, the hosts, will face Ladan Bosso’s Flying Eagles in the opening match of the competition which also serves as the qualifiers for the FIFA U20 World Cup.
Senegal and Mozambique complete Group A, along the two giants of African football.
“The Egyptian national team includes a distinguished group of players, and the team that plays for the title must win all matches, starting with Nigeria — a very strong team.
“I know all the teams present in the tournament very well, but the Egypt group is the strongest among the three groups,” Gaber said.
The gaffer then appealed to the fans to come out in numbers and give the team maximum support.
“My full confidence in the players of the Egyptian national team, I appeal to the Egyptian fans to attend the tournament matches to strongly support the players to qualify for the World Youth Cup and achieve the title,” He concluded.
The tournament will kick off in February, with Egypt facing record winners Nigeria.
