Egypt successfully hosted and won the U23 AFCON tournament, and will lead Africa’s charge at the Men’s football event of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The Young Pharaohs went through the tournament unbeaten to emerge Nigeria’s successor; claiming the crown, and becoming the third Country to win the competition.
They also scooped all the individual and single team awards in the tournament.
Egypt will be joined by Ivory Coast and South Africa who beat Ghana in third place playoff.
