Egypt 2019 – Sodje offers advice to Rohr

Former Super Eagles defender and ex-international, Sam Sodje has called on head coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Gernot Rohr to make sure he creates his philosophy that he would want his players to adopt when they play at the Nations Cup.

Nigeria would be looking to go all the way after missing out on the last two editions of the biennial tournament due to non-qualification
Speaking with www.brila.net, Sodje pointed out the need for Rohr to create a style of play that his players can fit into, while he believes it is key to them doing well in Egypt.
“The main thing is that the manager having a system. I have played the game for over 18 years and I know that when you go to a tournament like that, you need to have a system so it all depends on the system he wants to play”.
“It also has to do with the players that for the style of play and I believe he has gotten it right inviting the players he believes can execute such a system so everyone are coaches, but he has the last say, he should pick the players that fit his system, and he has that at the moment”.
“I want to see the players perform on the big stage and hopefully that can happen”.
Nigeria are in group B alongside Guinea, Madagascar, and Burundi.
