Edo Queens coach, Moses Aduku revealed the team’s determination as they prepare to make their debut in the upcoming CAF Women’s Champions League.
Fresh off their impressive victory in the WAFU B competition in Côte d’Ivoire, which secured their qualification, Aduku shared insights into the team’s preparations and aspirations in an exclusive interview with CAFOnline.com.
In their WAFU B journey, Edo Queens won all their matches. Aduku spoke on their intense focus in every fixture.
“It was our first time participating, and we approached it believing that we were not just there to compete but also to see if we could win the competition. Every game felt like a cup final.”
“My players were on top of their game. We treated every match as crucial,” he said.
Looking ahead to the Champions League, Aduku revealed that Edo Queens are not just participating but aiming to bring the trophy back to Nigeria.
“Having reached this stage, we certainly don’t want to come back empty-handed. Our preparations have already started since the day we qualified,” he said.
“Yes, we are giants of African football, but the reality is that matches are played over 90 minutes, and preparation is key.”
“I believe our strength lies in the team as a whole rather than focusing on individual players.”
Finally, Aduku called on Edo Queens’ fans to support the team as they head to the tournament, saying, “I urge our fans to pray for us and expect great performances from the team.”
