Edo Queens were held to a goalless draw by FC Masar in their second group match of the CAF Women’s Champions League, Morocco 2024, on Wednesday.
Both teams, making their debut appearances at the finals, had hoped a win would edge them closer to the semi-finals.
FC Masar, fresh off a historic 1-0 win over defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns, sought to continue their momentum.
Edo Queens, who triumphed 3-0 over Central Bank of Ethiopia in their opener, also aimed to build on their strong start.
Despite several chances for both sides, neither team could find the back of the net, with goalkeepers and defenders on high alert throughout the match.
The result leaves Edo Queens at the top of Group B with four points, with FC Masar right behind them, also on four points.
The outcome sets up a dramatic finish in the group, with Queens facing Sundowns on Saturday and Masar taking on the already-eliminated Ethiopian side. Both matches will kick off at 19:00 local time.
