Heading into today’s round of 16 game against Netherlands at the 2019 U17 world cup in Brazil, Former Eaglets player, Godwin Okpara has advised Nigeria U17 handler, Manu Garba to charge the players to avoid conceding goals before scoring as it is more risky at the knockout stage to come from behind.
The Ex-Nigeria International in a chat withĀ www.brila.netĀ said the pressure is higher now with the trophy “The coach knows best what these players can handle and has to work with that, we always behind we have to avoid it because it’s too risky coming from behind in a round of 16 game and improve on our goal-scoring form.”
On the defensive issues in the team, Okpara said “some players take the coaches instruction, some don’t so the coach has to tell the players what he expects and the kind of defence he wants going into the game today.”
