Settling into his new environment at Galatasaray has been learning curve for young Nigerian defender Valentine Ozornwafor and taking tips from Coaches and teammates is helping him learn everyday.
Ozornwafor, who joined the Turkish Super Lig champions this summer from Enyimba, got more minutes in pre-season under his belt in the 3-1 win over Bordeaux.
The Nigerian was handed a cameo, replacing Ryan Babel with two minutes of regular time left to play.
He explained how players like Babel have been crucial to his settling into life at the club.
“You know I’m a very young player. Every day I learn one more thing. Surely to play in this match, this match gave me experience to wear. The most important thing for me is to learn from each passing day,” Ozornwafor told the club’s website.
“After all, a professional player needs to adapt to the team as soon as possible. There’s not much time left, you know the league starts in a few weeks.
“I need to get used to everything that the Manager wants, as well as my team mates. Ryan Babel showed me a video. He gave me some advice. Every day I learn something new.
“I don’t necessarily have to be an experienced player. Especially my Coaches and teammates every day I learn something from them. I’m open to learning. I will improve myself in this way.”
