D’Tigress End 20-Year Olympic Drought

The D’Tigress of Nigeria Basketball WNT, D’Tigress, has secured a historic victory over the Opals of Australia in their opening match at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

It marks Nigeria’s first win at the ongoing Olympic Games and the D’Tigress’ first Olympic victory since Athens 2004.

The African champions dominated the match, with quarter scores of Q1: 18-17, Q2: 23-11, Q3: 10-19, and Q4: 24-15, resulting in a final score of 75-62.

Rena Wakama’s team delivered a spectacular performance at the Pierre Mauroy Stadium on Monday as they defeated the Australian team.

Next up, Nigeria faces France on Thursday before concluding their group stage with a match against Canada on Sunday.
