Nigeria WBT, D’Tigress, suffered a 77-63 defeat to Germany in a warm-up game at the UBER Arena in Berlin Germany on Friday, ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Ranked 12th in the world, D’Tigress were unable to overcome the 19th-ranked Germans.
Despite the loss, Amy Okonkwo stood out for the Nigerians, contributing 16 points and 2 rebounds.
Elizabeth Balogun also made a significant impact with 14 points and 5 assists.
Marjanatu Musa added 11 points and 4 assists, while Ezine Kalu chipped in with 7 points and 1 assist.
D’Tigress face a challenging path in the Olympics, placed in Group B alongside Canada, Australia, and France.
They will kick off their campaign against Australia on July 29, a team they have struggled against in past competitions.
This is the African giants’ third appearance at the Olympics, where they are still seeking their first win.
