Assistant coach of Nigeria’s women national basketball team Peter Ahmedu has stated that the D’Tigress going to the fast approaching FIBA women Afrobasket want to finish top of their group after been drawn alongside Cameroon and Tunisia in group B of the competition.Â
Ahmedu speaking in a chat with www.brila.net as the team continue to intensify preparation ahead of the competition said the D’Tigress are fully aware of their status as the team to beat been defending champion and hence knows every team will be extra prepared against Nigeria.
“I tell you because of what Nigeria is nobody is going to look down on us. Every country will come out with it very best. Nobody is leaving any stone unturned so everybody want to give their best against Nigeria because we are the defending champion. Toping the group is going to be key but as the defending champion, we have the championship title to protect.”
