Chuba Akpom’s stunning brace powered Ajax to a 3-1 victory over AEK Athens at the Johan Cruijff Arena on Thursday.

Akpom netted his first in the 5th minute, heading home Kristian Hlynsson’s well-placed corner kick, to put the hosts ahead.

The 28-year-old continued to dominate the pitch, sealing his brace in the 56th minute when an expertly delivered pass from Arjany Martha found him inside the penalty area.

He calmly slotted the ball into the net, further solidifying his impact on the match.

Despite a slow start in the Netherlands, Akpom has now amassed an impressive eight goals for Ajax across all competitions.

Chuba Akpom boasts of three goals from six games in the Europa League, although the Dutch giants fell short of qualifying for the knockout stages.
