Former Coach of the Super Eagles, Christian Chukwu has admonished the senior National team and their handlers not to be distracted by the latest FIFA ranking released yesterday.
The Former Enugu Rangers Coach spoke to brila.net earlier today and was very optimistic about the strength of the current crop of players in the team.
“I don’t even know how FIFA does the thing, but I think the team right now is very okay and I will like to implore them not to look at the rankings at all”, Chukwu told brila.net.
Christian Chukwu was the Captain of the Green Eagles as far back as 1980, he played alongside top man, Segun Odeghbami and he led the squad that won the 1980 African Cup of Nations as Captain.
The former Kenya National team Coach has also Managed the Super Eagles on different occassion, before joining Enugu Rangers in the NPFL.
Chukwu coached Enugu Rangers to 6th place in the 2008-2009 season of the Nigeria Premier League. However, he was sacked on August 5, 2009 for failing to reach the club’s targets for the season.
